capacity development assistance
Capacity development, being of critical importance for the Foundation, represents an integral element of the Foundation’s support mechanisms offered to civil society actors across the country. The Foundation strives to create a more demand driven capacity development framework to help build a service environment which creates more favourable conditions for local and rural based civil society actors and service providers, both on the demand and supply side.
The Foundation also offers Capacity Development assistance to civil society organisations. This support tool caters for smaller and emerging organisations faced with start-up problems. These organisations would not meet the eligibility criteria for accessing Institutional or Initiative Support grants. These civil society organisations are able to receive support if they can convincingly demonstrate that they have the potential to overcoming their challenges. Organisations whose grant applications have been unsuccessful but who demonstrate potential will benefit from Capacity Development Support.
