Our pillars

Through these pillars, we drive positive change, foster inclusive development, and create opportunities for lasting impact in Zambia.

Supporting Civil Society
Asset 1

We are committed to assisting Zambian civil society organisations (CSOs) in becoming more effective. We enable community-based groups and community-based organisations (CBOs) to improve their impact and effectiveness by providing funds and participating in specific capacity development programmes. We focus on growing civil society organisations in the country through tactics that include financial grants and other capacity development interventions that are geared to Zambian CSOs and CBOs that exist with varied degrees of capacity. These interventions are tailored to the specific needs of these organisations. We make the most of this chance to encourage our CSO and CBO partners to do an in-depth analysis of the conventional model of international assistance and to persuade them to incorporate community-led development and community philanthropy into their day-to-day business activities.

Empowering Communities
Asset 2

We believe in the power of communities to shape their own development. We work alongside both rural and urban communities, helping them realise their rights, hold the government and private sectors accountable, and take control of their own destinies. Community-led change is about communities taking control of and leading their own development by unlocking their local financial and non-financial assets, using these to leverage more institutional forms of giving as collective investment in their development. Communities find and accentuate their advocacy voice, realise their rights as per the constitution of the country, and able to hold government and others, accountable. Communities at the rural village and peri-urban geographic spaces, work in collaboration with all sectors, including government, business and civil society to address needs and realise aspirations. Communities collaborate to help realise the SDGs.

Building Community Philanthropy
philanthropy

We advocate for the growth and scope of philanthropic giving in Zambia. Our focus extends beyond formalised institutional giving to include community-level giving and savings. By fostering a culture of community philanthropy, we strive to expand, deepen, and sustain the field of philanthropy in the country. We take on the role of field builders to help expand, deepen, and sustain the field of philanthropy, both vertical (formalised and institutional giving) and horizontal (community level giving), advancing community-led change in the country and contributing towards realising the SDGs. Being positioned at the interface between formal and informal giving, we support the growth in community giving through leveraging private and institutionalized forms of giving by high-net-worth individuals, corporate social investment (CSI), government, foundations, trusts and donors.
