There is nothing remarkable or innovative about community‑led work to most community changemakers. To them, it’s the air they breathe. What is problematic to many, however, is the issue of language. Social changemakers who regularly engage with external development actors often become adept at presenting their work in ways that they think funders will understand or want to hear.
