Mboshya
Situated about 60 km from Lusaka, Mboshya community is located off Mumbwa road between Mwembeshi Earth station and Mwembeshi Bridge. The community is in the Chibombo district of Central Province and falls under the Chilochabalenge ward. The ward has four zones, namely Kanwanjiba Zone, Chilo Zone, Lupani Zone, and Mboshya Zone. Mboshya zone has a total household of about 369 with a population of about 3,240. The community mainly relies on agriculture for their survival.
Collaboration with ZGF: The community in partnership with ZGF prioritized the construction of the market shelter. ZGF has contributed some of the key materials needed to build the shelter. The community has since started making its own contribution to finalise the shelter. In 2021, the community formed Mbomushi Multipurpose Cooperative Society which aims to coordinate community led development initiatives in the area. ZGF works with the Mboshya community through this structure and has been supporting the cooperative around issues of cooperative governance.
