Chilimba community is located a 122km distance from Lusaka in Rufunsa district. The community constitutes of 13 villages, however, only four villages are currently collaborating with ZGF. The four villages comprise of 261 number of households and an estimated population of 1,305. The majority of the people living in this community depend highly on subsistence farming such as growing crops and raising livestock. Chilimba community is very dependent on firewood for household energy and income through charcoal selling, which has led to significant deforestation in the area.
